Outside has always been my safe place, where I go when I'm scared or sad, while books are my escape when life, the universe and everything is just too much.

This food forest style border encompasses the darkness but also what helps me see the light. A jigsaw path leads through childhood memories of colour, bug hunting and eating fruit straight from the plant. A darker area with small seats shows the isolation of emetophobia, planting consists of cool coloured, culinary and medicinal species with pops of complementary colours showing the calming side of a garden but highlighting that they aren't completely safe, a vegetable bed with family tools to show what led to today and a bird bath built from books because books have always been a part of me and without the library, family, nature and gardening, I'm not sure where I'd be. Hopefully this story will continue.
