For me gardens are places to escape and as a child they were somewhere I could truly be alone. I would get lost in worlds at the bottom of the garden, places that were just as real to me as the 'normal' world. Places that existed out of time but still linger in my memory like a story that can't be forgotten. As a child I knew that gnomes existed and probably fairies, trolls and pixies too. The contrast of bolder and more delicate white flowers reminds us that magic can be inspired by the sometimes unnoticed little things. Seemingly alive the grasses sway around us and the green foliage is infused with the essence of life itself.
This garden then heralds the return of the gnomes and the panoply of magical creatures that once roamed freely in our world and our young and open minds. This garden invites you, urges you even to reengage with wonder, to stop and be still, to know again what magic is, to feel and sense your own presence and perhaps the presence of the little people too.
