Andrea's Wonderland Border

Once upon a time I was broken after many years growing up in the care system.

Gardening has been therapeutic and has enabled me to find peace and tranquillity. I have designed a border that takes inspiration from my personal journey and hope that this border can bring similar joy and healing to other people.

This magical, colourful border represents my journey to healing. I have used colours, textures and colourful garden items to create avenues of interest to draw the viewer in.
I have included some broken items from my own garden which demonstrate my development from broken to fulfilled. Through the border runs an illusion of a river. I have included a mini garden within the border, along with wooden hand painted items to bring a magical, fairy-tale feel. These items also bring colour - even when the season is over.
50% of the plants are grown by myself, nurturing them from seed. Plants include sunflowers, marigolds, calendulas and dahlias. I have used a colour scheme of greens, including vivid lime and more subtle hues, along with accents of yellow, orange, purple, red, blue and bright pink.
