About this garden

The story

Calon Lân Five Senses Garden is a sacred peaceful retreat that nurtures the heart and soul. This garden celebrates cultivating connections by uniting Islamic faith with my Welsh and Arab heritage. Guided by Islamic Principles of environmental care, it embraces sustainability with eco-friendly materials and plants suited to the British climate. Designed to inspire peace and reflection, it encourages a deeper connection with nature and each other. At the heart of the garden is a fountain where the sound of flowing water not only soothes the soul but also reminds us of life’s essential connection. Included in the garden are many highly scented plants to create a calm meditative environment whilst also attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. supporting biodiversity and promoting stewardship alined with the Islamic faith.
