From Sewing to Sowing

This border is inspired by my journey from sewing costumes for films to horticulture student as I look to change career into gardening. Like many people, I caught the gardening bug during 2020 where I discovered a love of growing flowers and veg. I loved the fact that I had gone from sewing costumes to sowing seeds and the journey that it has since opened up for me.

Drawing on my previous career I have taken inspiration from Arts & Crafts style gardens. I have used cottage garden planting using a mix of flowers and vegetables to create an ornamental and productive garden. Plants can be used to create different textures in a garden, just like working with different fabrics will bring a design to life.
