My inspiration is a love of plants and a gardening ethos that is both achievable and sustainable. This design leads you via a series of raised floating platforms, set amidst a tapestry of relaxed naturalistic planting, to a deck where you can sit and unwind, or maybe do a spot of Pilates.
At its core, this garden embraces simplicity – it’s achievable by anyone, and this is its only message. It’s just a garden!
However, it does subtly consider good environment practices. There are no impermeable surfaces, allowing water to pass directly into the soil and the resilient planting scheme is tailored to its local microclimate within the garden. Flowering plants are selected to provide pollen and nectar for insects, while hedges, foliage plants, leaf litter, and a log pile all offer shelter for insects, small mammals, and amphibians. In essence it’s just a garden to enjoy!
