The Artist's Garden

Inspired by a Derbyshire artist's garden, this space reflects more than seventy years of creative evolution, shaped by both the artist and their parents. It blends artistic expression with the practical charm of a traditional country cottage garden. A vibrant palette of herbaceous perennials frames the entrance and surrounds a rose-clad arbour, creating a welcoming threshold. An informal pathway of reclaimed stone, brick and ceramics weaves through the garden, incorporating intricate mosaic detailing and leading visitors towards a central willow arch. Beyond, a small orchard offers dappled shade and informal seating, with meadow grass underfoot enhancing the sense of calm. Productive planting lies at the garden's heart, where beds of brassicas and summer vegetables grow. Sculptural elements punctuate the space, drawing inspiration from the work of the artist's father and celebrating creativity across generations.
