The Mill Ruins
==============

 Large Show Garden

The Mill Ruins explores the quiet moment where industry gives way to nature. Inspired by the remnants of Lancashire's historic mills, reclaimed brick, Corten steel and weathered oak echo the fragments left behind as landscapes regenerate.

Visitors enter through a sculptural Corten moon gate and follow a winding hoggin path around layered planting and a shallow reflective pool. A rain chain and oak water channel introduce movement and sound - a subtle nod to the water that once powered the mills.

Over 90% of the planting is native to the UK, selected to support biodiversity and soften the architectural forms. Drifts of grasses and meadow perennials sit alongside productive raised beds, inviting both reflection and participation.

The Mill Ruins is a garden about renewal - where structure fades, and nature quietly takes back control.
