About this garden

The story

Designed for the owner of a new-build home who wants to create a garden but is a complete beginner, this garden explores simple, cost-effective options for low-maintenance gardening. The space is filled with plants to attract a broad range of pollinators. A traditional herbaceous border and simple gravel garden work together with the emphasis on climate-friendly planting that requires minimal watering. Amid the pink and purple colour scheme, magenta Dianthus carthusianorum and Agapanthus ‘Poppin’ Purple’ add splashes of bright colours complemented by silverleaved plants such as Eryngium yuccifolium and Echinops ritro ‘Veitch’s Blue’.
