Where Did Your Love of Nature Begin?

Designed by Belinda Buckley
About this garden

The story

Inspired by childhood storybooks and the ancient woodland of Audley End, this border celebrates the wonder of discovering nature through curious eyes.

Centred on a tree stump, it invites visitors to pause with a book on the blanket. Nearby, a reclaimed sink becomes a wildlife pond and a log pile provides habitat for small creatures. Layered woodland-inspired planting offers autumn colour, berries, flowers and evergreen structure, encouraging people of all ages to notice the beauty of stems, insects, fallen leaves and water. It celebrates stories that spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of nature, and is a reminder that gardens inspire wonder in every season.
