We are assisting clients in their search for two members of the gardening team at their beautiful, private family-owned property in North Oxfordshire. We recently completed the restoration and renovation of the estate’s historic gardens.
The roles are:
Estate Head Gardener
Head Grower (for the cut flower business run from the property)
The gardens comprise ornamental gardens, an orchard, a productive walled garden and glasshouse, cutting gardens, a gravel garden, nuttery, wildflower meadows, pond and wetland, and a flowering tree and shrub walk. The overall character is naturalistic, alongside formal hedging, lawns, and topiary that provide structure.
The estate is managed according to organic principles, and the existing gardeners share the owners’ passion for regenerative landscape management, promoting biodiversity, and developing methods of gardening that work sensitively with nature and the wider landscape. At the same time, the ornamental gardens are maintained to the highest standard.
In addition, a cut flower business operates from the estate grounds. The Estate Head Gardener will be required to assist and support with the maintenance of the cutting gardens as needed.
