Senior Garden Designer / Senior Landscape Architect

Main Purpose of the Job
As Senior Garden Designer / Senior Landscape Architect, you will play a leading role in the design and delivery of our high-quality landscape projects, as well as contributing to the development and growth of the design studio.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate on and lead the development and implementation of landscape design concepts and proposals

• Create 3D CAD models and presentations of the studio’s designs, delivering client presentations where relevant

• Produce technical design information, including specifications, scale drawings, planting plans, and construction details

• Attend site visits and meetings as required, representing the company with professionalism

• Communicate with clients and collaborators as required, including handling new client enquiries

Key Skills and Qualifications Required

• Degree or Diploma in Garden Design or Landscape Architecture, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential landscape design; experience within other design studios preferred

• Strong software skills: proficiency in SketchUp, Vectorworks 2D, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is essential; proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign (or Affinity Publisher and Affinity Photo) is desirable

• Proven ability to produce creative and imaginative landscape designs, with clear and persuasive presentations

• Excellent knowledge of landscape construction, including the design of bespoke hard landscape elements

• Excellent plant knowledge, with proven creative and practical planting design skills

• Strong experience managing and coordinating landscape design projects at all stages of the project lifecycle

• Current full UK driving licence and own vehicle, as the role requires travel to site and in-person meetings

• Eligibility to work in the UK, with fluency in spoken and written English
