Kate achieved a Masters of Landscape Architecture, First Class Honours with Distinction, and prior to this a Master of Arts in History of Art, First Class Honours, both from the University of Edinburgh. She is interested in new methods of sustainable design in the landscape profession and wilding. Her graduating project, Intelligent Wilderness, explored this at length, looking at the potential for using a wilding strategy in conjunction with sensitive design interventions, modern technology and natural and renewable construction materials, all to create a quality of climate resilience within the landscape. Since graduating, her project has been recognised with the European Council for Landscape Architecture Students (ECLAS) Award and the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape (ESALA) Postgraduate Prize for Contextual Studies.
