Max graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc in Plant Biology in 2014. Whilst studying he spent a year working at the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge, where he partook in research focusing on agricultural genetics and floral form. He then attended the London College of Garden Design and was awarded the external examiner’s prize for his final project in 2017. On completion of his Diploma he worked for Bowles & Wyer where he worked on a range of high end residential and commercial projects. Max entered the Young Garden Designer of the Year competition in 2018 at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show and was awarded a Silver-Gilt medal for his show garden ‘A Calm in Chaos’. He joined Tom Stuart-Smith Ltd in February 2019.
