The European Commission's 'Renewed Blooms' Garden

The European Commission's 'Renewed Blooms' Garden
The European Commission's 'Renewed Blooms' Garden embodies EU circular economy principles by repurposing materials and blending nature with human-made elements. Featuring a discarded railway track and facade tiles made from recycled PVC windows, the garden showcases how waste materials can be transformed into functional, durable, and striking design features. Highlighting the beauty of reclaimed materials while serving as a wildlife habitat and source of inspiration, every element – from salvaged wood and repurposed metal to upcycled containers - demonstrates the multiple lifecycles of materials. Thoughtfully chosen plants, composting, water efficiency systems, seed saving measures, and propagation further embody circularity. The garden challenges perspectives on waste, inspiring reuse and repurposing. DIY workshops will be held adjacent to the garden with the Rediscovery Centre, Ireland's National Centre for the Circular Economy. Educational materials will be distributed to empower visitors to bring circularity into their daily lives.
