The Boodles Travel Garden

The Boodles Travel Garden
In 1962, 60 years ago, Anthony Wainwright, the grandfather of Boodles' current chairman, embarked on a journey around the world in just 16 days. The Boodles Travel Garden honors this remarkable achievement with a diverse selection of plants from across the globe, creating a serene space that invites reflection on the journey. The garden features plants with unique forms and habits, including Cyathea cooperii from India, known for its striking bark pattern, Cornus controversa from East Asia with its distinctive horizontal growth, and Acer davidii from China, recognized for its striped white bark. Beneath the bold plants, a woodland stumpery-style underplanting is complemented by a trail of blue and burnt orange, symbolizing a journey and adding dynamic movement to the space. The mounded beds subtly obscure views, enhancing the sense of discovery.
