The garden was designed to demonstrate the connection between mind, body and environment, creating a place of contemplation, engaging the senses towards self-understanding, personal agency and connectedness.
The concept was formed from my own personal experiences and recognition of the value of immersing oneself in the smells, sounds, touch and sight of an ever-changing garden space, my form of mindfulness.
Conversations with others living with stress or pain have reinforced my belief that sensory spaces should be available to all, and this small garden is my contribution to helping others mindfully make sense of their world.
