After the End explores the connections between the end and the beginning of life. In this garden, death is represented by a spiral of logs, made from dead wood. As the wood rots down, it gives nutrients to the organisms and creatures living in the soil. From this decay springs forth a new garden.
The spiral shape has been chosen because it occurs throughout nature – from whirlwinds to snail shells, and it has also been associated with rebirth by cultures around the world.
