With the aim of raising awareness of the amazing work Beth’s Sunflowers do for cancer charities, our garden design showcases the incredible power of the sunflower and how it is being channeled as a force for good.
A hugely symbolic plant since ancient times, its cheerful, ‘sun-like’ appearance and ability to follow the sun (heliotropism) have led to it being a symbol of positivity, optimism and happiness. One of nature’s mathematical marvels, its seeds are arranged in spirals following the Fibonacci sequence, optimising space and reducing shadowing
The sunflower’s Fibonacci spiral lies at the heart of the design, whilst other symbolic hard landscaping elements will complement a planting scheme incorporating sunflowers and members of the Asteraceae family, showing how at every stage in its lifecycle, this unique plant brings health and hope.
